Carrie Miller - First Woman in Nascar History to Claim Back to Back Championships at any Level

2004 Pro 4 Truck Championship at Stockton 99 Speedway

Carrie Miller

Carrie Miller became one of fewer than 20 women in the history of NASCAR to win a division championship...

Saratoga , CA– Last year Carrie Miller became one of fewer than 20 women in the history of NASCAR to win a division championship (at any level). This year Carrie Miller became the first woman in the history of NASCAR to win back to back championships in any NASCAR Division.

On her way to winning her second Pro4 Truck championship, Carrie took 3 main event wins and 4 trophy dash wins.

Always aware of those who support her Carrie emphasizes that her success would be impossible without her crew (Crew Chief, John Thompson and Ray Miller). “Winning the championship last year was huge for us. We had no idea we would be able to pull if off a second time. Even more than last year John and Ray's efforts in the shop were the key to winning. There hard work made this year possible .”

In 2003, the Miller Motorsports team had problems getting their motor program flushed out. This year the main challenge was repairing the truck. On the April 24 th , two weeks after a major wreck, Carrie got tangled up in a wreck going into turn three. Two trucks got together in front of her then she got hit from behind and driven into the wreck.

Carrie took the ambulance ride to the hospital...

At the end of the melee Carrie was pressed into the wall on her right, another truck was on top of the nose of her truck (its rear end had pushed in her windshield), another truck smashed into her left side. This time Carrie took the ambulance ride to the hospital. Luckily, she ended up with only a minor concussion.

One week later, Carrie got in a backup truck (the truck driven by her teammate/brother, Chris Drysdale) and won the Trophy Dash as well as the Main Event.

After that, the chase was on. She was down in the points, but with the help of her team, she battled back and never gave up.

“With all the time and work our team put into the truck, I just couldn't let them down,” Carrie Said. “Every week worked really hard on consistency, and finishing each race. We fought hard for each point. It was a lot harder this year.”

"In two years Carrie Miller has become a crowd favorite..."

“Miller Motorsports come to the track well prepared and are very professional. It is a pleasure having them in the sport,” raves Ken Clapp co-owner of Stockton 99 Speedway. “In two years Carrie Miller has become a crowd favorite—especially with the kids. Their whole team is an asset to NASCAR and to Stockton 99 Speedway.”

The future is unsure for Carrie Miller at this point. As is the case with most female drivers, sponsor support is hard to come by regardless of the success. Miller Motorsports is currently looking for sponsorship partners for 2005.

Carrie Miller and Miller Motorsports efforts have been supported all year by Red Line Oil, Alfi's Auto Body, Metal-Craft , Fun Sport Bikes , Appareo Interactive and, Millers Automotive. Miller Motorsports is also supported by on and off the track by Clinton & Ethel Miller and Michael & Kelly Drysdale, Ed and Cindy Mc Garvey.
